East Texas Baptist University started the Spring 2018 semester with Welcome Week for new and returning students on Thursday, January 11 through Monday, January 15. From group sessions to a t-shirt exchange, students were encouraged to build relationships and equipped with the resources necessary to be successful in and beyond the classroom.  

East Texas Baptist University administered one-week and two-week Mini-Term courses, beginning on Monday, December 11 and concluding on Friday, January 12. More than 170 students were enrolled in nine courses, including December, January, and Winter terms.  

The East Texas Baptist University Bass Fishing team traveled to Brazil on Wednesday, January 3 through Friday, January 12 as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program.  ETBU partnered with Amazon Outreach, an organization that works directly with Brazilian missionaries to spread the Gospel to the people of the Amazon River region. 

The East Texas Baptist University Baseball team traveled to the Dominican Republic (DR) on Sunday, December 10 through Sunday, December 17 as a part of the Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME) program.  Fifty-one student-athletes engaged in sports ministry with clinics for children and neighborhood renewal with home improvements. The Tigers also played four games, including two games against Dominican winter league teams and two Dominican national teams.

ETBU initiates the Tiger Transfer Track Program
As a part of the Tiger Transfer Track Program, East Texas Baptist University has broadened its reach by signing articulation agreements with nine educational institutions and ministry organizations including the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSCT), Kilgore College, Jacksonville College, Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC), Youth with A Mission (YWAM), Panola College, Navarro College, Tyler Junior College (TJC), and Angelina College.
